La Storia nella storia …
Il MUSEO
Il museo ha sede nel Palazzo della Cultura ed è costituito dalle seguenti sezioni:
Archeologica, con vasellame in terra sigillata aretina, urne cineraie; statuette fittili votive, monete romane, epigrafi e rilievi marmorei, capitelli e vetri.
Medievale, con nastri marmorei di età carolingia, protome leonine del X secolo, alcuni esemplari di follari (moneta autoctona del Ducato di Gaeta, dal X all’XI secolo), capitelli e colonnine tortili di stile gotico, frammenti epigrafici e ceramiche varie.
Artistica, con affreschi, tavole e tele dal XII al XIX secolo con opere di Giovanni da Gaeta, Giovan Filippo Criscuolo, Giovanni Battista Beinaschi, Luca Giordano, Paolo De Matteis, Sebastiano Conca, Pasquale Mattei, Marcello Sozzi.
